This morning, I got up at 4:45 AM to make it to a workout class. That’s right, before the sun even considered rising, I was already moving. Out the door by 5:00 AM, walking into the gym, wondering what I had just signed myself up for.

And honestly? It was great.

One thing I love about my gym is that nobody is judgey. Everyone is just there to put in the work, and more importantly, everyone is helpful. I didn’t know exactly what we needed for the class, and instead of standing there awkwardly, I did something that I’m trying to get better at—I spoke up. I asked a woman next to me what we needed, and instead of looking at me like I should already know, she helped me. She showed me where to grab the weights, asked me questions, and walked me through the setup.

Look at me, learning to ask instead of assuming.

The class? Body Pump. And let me tell you, it pumped my body.

Within the first ten minutes, I could feel my legs shaking in a way I had never felt before. I looked at the clock, expecting to be near the finish line, and saw we were only 20 minutes in to this 1-hour class. And I thought, How the hell am I going to survive this?

But I did.

We worked every muscle group—so many reps, a little weight, and a whole lot of why am I doing this to myself moments. And now? I’m pretty sure my body will need a few days to recover. Walking tomorrow? Questionable. Sitting down without wincing? Unlikely.

But it felt so good.

I walked out of that class exhausted, sore, and so happy that I showed up for myself. This is just another thing I’m doing for me—for my mind, my body, and my wellness.

Now, I just have to figure out how to eat better. One step at a time, right?

Here’s to movement. Here’s to wellness. Here’s to better.
