If you had told me a few months ago that I’d be waking up excited to hit the gym five times a week, I probably would have laughed. Yet here I am, finishing up another solid week of workouts, feeling stronger than ever, and honestly? I’ve never felt better.

This week was a milestone for me. Not only did I successfully make it to the gym five times, but I also increased my weights in BodyPump, which—let me tell you—was no joke. My legs were done after today’s class, but in the best way possible. I can feel my body adapting, my muscles strengthening, and that’s exactly what I want. I don’t need to lose weight, but I do want to be toned, strong, and lean, and this journey is proving that consistency works.

Of course, strength doesn’t just come from workouts. I’ve also been fueling my body better, eating cleaner, and making a conscious effort to hit my protein goal of around 150 grams per day. One of my new favorite additions? Collagen peptides. The best part? I can sneak them right into my morning coffee. It’s a simple way to get an extra 20 grams (sometimes even 40 if I double up). But I have noticed that if I do two scoops, I get sleepy midday—so I’m tweaking things as I go. It’s all about listening to my body and adjusting accordingly.

Beyond the physical changes—like how my clothes are starting to fit differently—there’s something even more rewarding happening. My mental clarity is at an all-time high. I feel focused, clear-headed, and just better overall. There’s something about pushing yourself physically that translates into mental toughness, and I’m here for it.

Another unexpected but welcomed part of this journey? The people I’m meeting. Over the past few weeks, I’ve run into the same woman, Jennifer, at the gym. She’s tall like me, so she gets the struggle—especially with squats. (If you’re tall, you know. That extra range of motion is no joke.) Today, she came up to me after class and shared some tips, which I truly appreciated. Learning little tweaks from people who’ve been doing this longer makes a big difference.

Speaking of learning, I’m still figuring out the structure of BodyPump. Some days, I start an exercise and realize I need to adjust my weights midway through because they’re either too heavy or too light. It can feel a little chaotic, but I just keep going. And that’s the biggest lesson so far: just keep going. You don’t have to have everything perfectly figured out to show up, put in the work, and improve over time.

If I’ve learned anything on this journey, it’s that strength—both physical and mental—is built through consistency, adaptability, and a willingness to learn. It’s okay to not have everything sorted from day one. What matters is showing up, pushing through the challenges, and celebrating the progress along the way.

Here’s to getting stronger, learning as we go, and embracing the process.
